1. Data collection and usage

a) Order: We collect and process your data that have been saved in order to provide our services, process your purchase and handle any subsequent warranty claims. Order processing involves transferring the essential data to our service providers (carriers, logistics companies, banks). If you place orders for products and services, we will need your correct address data. Your telephone number is used only in the event of queries. We need your email address to confirm the order and communicate with you. All contractual data will be returned for you to archive and print out. Your current email address is required to send you information on both this purchase and any offers that may be of interest and to email you order confirmations. We also need it to enable you to login.

b) Customer login: Although we store your specific order data, you may not, for security reasons, retrieve it from us directly. However, we do set up password protected access for all customers who register correctly. This enables you to view your completed, outstanding and recently despatched orders. You can also manage and save your address data, probable payment method and your password. Likewise, you may remove the cookies that are created when you login to the shop and your personal data or delete your customer account. It may be that additional cookies, which cannot be deleted in the customer login as stated, are created elsewhere. The customer undertakes to treat personal access data as confidential and to refrain from disclosing such data to unauthorised third parties. We accept no liability for the misuse of passwords we cannot control.

c) Advertising purposes: We use your data for advertising purposes, i.e. information on products from our range. We use email advertising only insofar as is permitted by law or if you have authorised us to do so.

d) Other data collection and usage: Website visits and newsletters: Whenever you visit our website, and this includes via a link in a newsletter, certain data are collected and stored.

For the purpose of system security, the domain name or IP address of the computer you are using will be temporarily retained. These data are deleted by our provider after at the latest 6 months. Any entered data, the access date, the http response code and the website the computer visited before coming to ours and the transmitted data volume (bytes) are also collected and stored.

The exploitation method is analysed anonymously (e.g.: message xy has been accessed by 45% of newsletter readers). This enables us to match the information we offer to the interests of the reader. To do this we store so-called cookies on your computer.

2. Data storage using cookies

We use so-called cookies on our website. Cookies are small files which are stored on your data carrier and which retain certain settings and data to be exchanged with our system via your browser. Storing these cookies helps us to design a website that reflects your needs and that saves you from having to repeatedly enter repeatedly information that you have already recorded, hence making it easier to use. Some of the cookies we use are automatically deleted from your hard drive at the end of the browser session. You can delete cookies that are created in the shop yourself in the customer area/login. Some cookies, however, are retained on your hard drive. For your convenience, the expiry time is set far into the future (in some cases several years). The next time you visit, the site automatically detects that you have visited us before and knows your preferred entries and settings.

Your browser allows you to restricted settings for using cookies. This can lead to the result that our content has only a limited functionality or does not function at all. Cookies can also be deleted.

This website also uses Google Analytics. This is a service of Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, i.e. text files are saved on your computer that will allow you to analise your use of our Internet content. The data that the cookie generates on your use of this website (including your IP address) is transferred to a Google server in the USA where it is stored. Google will use this data to evaluate your use of the website in order to compile reports for on website activities for us and to provide us with other services associated with website and Internet use. Google may also transfer this data to third parties, insofar as this is stipulated by law or insofar as third parties process such data for and on behalf of Google. Under no circumstances will Google associate your IP address with other Google data. You can configure your browser to stop cookies from being installed. However, we should make you aware that doing so may inhibit full use of all website functions. By using this website, you declare your consent to the personal data collected by Google being used in the aforementioned manner and for the aforementioned purpose.

3. Secure data transfer

We encrypt the personal data you enter within the shop area to ensure its secure transfer. This applies for your order and also for customer login. We use the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) coding system for this purpose. This prevents your data from being read by unauthorised parties. Certain proxy servers and firewall configurations may prevent encrypted transfer. In this case, we offer data transfer without SSL encryption.


II. Special data recording and usage with your consent

1. Your newsletter subscriptions

All newsletters you receive from us include information on our content from which you can unsubscribe at any time. Please enter further personal data (e.g. your name) when subscribing to newsletters to enable us to respond. You may, of course, contact us anonymously or obtain our newsletter anonymously and/or through a pseudonym (e.g. using a freemail address that does not divulge your name).

The data we obtain when analysing newsletters is used to personalise our services and gear them as closely as possible to the interests and preferences of the user, as well as for advertising and market research purposes. We store the data for long-term archiving and repeated use for the purposes as stated.

2. Competitions

For any competitions we run, we use the data for notifying winners and advertising our content. Detailed information can be found in our entry rules for the competition concerned.

Right of withdrawal and objection

You can object at any time to your data being used, either in general or for certain initiatives, for advertising and market research purposes. You may also unsubscribe from newsletters without incurring any costs other than those stated in the basic tariffs. Please send your withdrawal to
